“He has passed away, Syabda Perkasa Belawa. Syabda died on his way to Sragen for a pilgrimage because his grandmother passed away,” Yuni wrote on her Twitter, @YuniKartika73, Monday (20/3/2023).
“Goodbye Syabda, you will be missed,” he added.
The deceased had planned to make a pilgrimage to Sragen, Central Java. He made the pilgrimage after his grandmother recently passed away.
The player who was born on August 25, 2001 himself last appeared at the Iran International Challenge 2023 in early February. At that time, he won after defeating Justin Hoh from Malaysia in the final with a score of 18-21, 21-12 and 22-20.
The death of Syabda is the second sad news that comes to the Indonesian badminton world. Previously, on 27 February 2023, a former PBSI Pelatnas player, Az-Zahra Putri Dania, who was only 19 years old, also breathed her last due to illness.
