Reportase.one, Jakarta – The Ministry of Education and Culture has extended registration for the implementation of the Independent Curriculum for the 2023/2024 school year to accommodate and appreciate the great enthusiasm of local governments (Pemda) in encouraging educational units in their respective regions to implement the Independent Curriculum. This extension of the registration period was also carried out to provide an opportunity for educational units to consolidate their decisions on the Independent Curriculum according to their individual needs.
“Currently, more than 268,000 educational units in all provinces of Indonesia are very enthusiastic about implementing the Merdeka Curriculum for the 2023/2024 school year. “The Ministry of Education and Culture welcomes the commitment of the local government and the enthusiasm of the education unit in implementing the Independent Curriculum so that the time for registration and reflection on the Independent Curriculum is extended to April 14, 2023,” explained Aswin.
Aswin also explained that this registration extension period could provide an opportunity for educational units that had not yet registered to become the implementers of the Independent Curriculum. This is because, according to the information received, there are still many requests for an extension of the registration period from various regions. This extension was made so that educational units have the opportunity to reflect and discuss together to determine the curriculum that will be used later.
The Ministry of Education and Culture has extended registration for the Merdeka Curriculum for the 2023/2024 academic year for schools through the Merdeka Teaching Platform (PMM) by accessing the link https://guru.kemdikbud.go.id/penregistran-ikm. The head of the education unit or the executor (Plt.) head of the education unit can also register his education unit using an active studi.id account.
Implementation of the Independent Curriculum independently is an option for educational units based on their respective readiness. During the extension of registration for the implementation of the Independent Curriculum for the 2023/2024 school year, there are important things that must be considered by educational units.
First, educational units that have implemented the Independent Curriculum for the 2022/2023 school year still have time to reflect and change their decision to use the Independent Curriculum for the new school year. This education unit can change its status to Mandiri Changing or Mandiri Sharing, while education units that have the status of Mandiri Changing can have the status of Mandiri Sharing.
Second, educational units that have never registered can choose one of the three choices of implementation categories of the Independent Curriculum according to their respective readiness. Meanwhile, the three categories are Independent Learning, Independent Change, and Independent Sharing.
