Reportase.one – The Minister of Manpower (Menaker), Ida Fauziyah explained, the Government of Indonesia is currently exploring cooperation with Takamol for Business Services, namely a business entity owned by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is mandated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) and the Human Resources Development Fund. (HRDF) to organize the Skills Verification Program (SVP).
The SVP in question is a program to verify the competence of prospective foreign skilled workers who wish to work in Saudi Arabia, by improving the quality of professional workforce through competency tests in the workers’ countries of origin in accordance with the standards of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“This program is planned to be implemented by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 8 countries, namely Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Egypt, Indonesia and Thailand,” he said.
He said bilateral cooperation between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had been going on for a long time, especially cooperation in the field of manpower.

He also stated that both Indonesia and Saudi Arabia had an agreement between the ministers of manpower of the two countries regarding the placement and protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) which was signed in 2014.
“Regarding the placement and protection of PMI in Saudi Arabia, the two countries have implemented a One Channel Placement System (SPSK), so PMI data collection in the domestic sector can be managed properly through an online system,” said the Minister of Labor Ida Fauziyah when receiving the visit of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi, at the Office of the Ministry of Manpower Jakarta, Tuesday (11/4/2023).
During the meeting, the Minister of Manpower also welcomed the plan to open a Labor Attaché Office at the Royal Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta. He hopes that the Labor Attache can work together with the Ministry of Manpower in overseeing the implementation of the cooperation program agreed upon by the two countries.
“With the employment attache of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Indonesia, it is able to mediate the communication and aspirations of the Indonesian government to develop cooperation in the field of employment,” he said.
Ida Fauziyah wants the cooperative relationship between Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to increase. “I believe, with the support of Ambassador Abdullah H. Amodi, cooperation, especially in the field of manpower, can provide benefits for both countries,” he concluded.
