Purwakarta (Reportase One) – The Purwakarta Regency Police have arrested a husband and wife for distributing cannabis narcotics in the Plered District area, Purwakarta, West Java.
“This time we arrested a man with the initials S and his wife with the initials NT who are eight months pregnant. They are residents of Plered,” said the Head of Purwakarta Police, AKBP Edwar Zulkarnain, in Purwakarta, Monday.
In addition, the Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit also arrested two other dealers, each with the initials AFN and JM.
The Police Chief said that the distribution of cannabis-type narcotics was revealed to have started from surfing activities in cyberspace carried out by the Purwakarta Police Narcotics Satres.
He said there were four suspects involved in the narcotics trafficking case. The four perpetrators, namely three men and one woman, have the initials AFN (26), JM (25), S (25) and NT (22).
He said the AFN suspect obtained the cannabis type narcotics from marketplace or online purchased from an area on the island of Sumatra.
After the illegal goods arrived in Purwakarta, the perpetrators repackaged and resold them online and directly to people they knew.
In the arrest made last week, the police confiscated evidence in the form of two packs of Class I narcotics of the cannabis type with a total weight of 1.8 kilograms.
“Besides that, we also secured three cellphones used for transactions,” he said.
The four suspects were threatened with Article 114 paragraph 2 or Article 111 paragraph 2 of RI Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
“The four perpetrators face up to 20 years in prison,” said Edwar.
