Police spread danger zone signs at the Pangandaran Beach tourist attraction

Pangandaran (Reportase One) – The Air and Air Police Unit (Satpolairud) has deployed dozens of coastal area hazard zone signs to warn tourists not to become victims of sea accidents while traveling in all coastal tourist attractions, Pangandaran Regency, West Java.

“All 50 have been distributed (already installed) from Karapyak Beach to Madasari Beach,” said Head of Satpolairud Pangandaran Police AKP Sugianto when contacted by cell phone, Sunday.

He said all the signs had been installed at a number of beach tourism points in Pangandaran Regency which were considered a danger zone for swimming activities for tourists.

The priority beach for officers’ supervision, he said, is one of them at Post 5 on the West Coast of Pangandaran because at that location there is a potential danger for tourists who can be pulled into the middle of the ocean.

“At that location there is a strong current loop, which can pull swimmers far to the center, so it can endanger the safety of visitors,” he said.

He explained that the existence of prohibition and appeal signs for tourists at a number of beach points could be a warning so they don’t want to swim to maintain their own safety.

“That’s a sign prohibiting swimming, so visitors are advised to obey the instructions of the coast guard and the existing signs,” he said.

He said that apart from installing signs, there was also a joint force of personnel from the Pangandaran Police Satpolairud, and the West Java Regional Police, then Balawista, Basarnas, TNI AL, and other institutions to provide a sense of security and comfort for tourists.

“Personnel of Polairud Pangandaran 12, plus BKO from Polairud Polda Jabar 25 personnel, as well as Balawista, Basarnas, TNI AL,” he said.

Regarding tourist visits to Pangandaran since the Eid holiday, said Sugianto, it has been observed to be busy, especially in the West Coast area of Pangandaran.

Head of the Tourism and Culture Office of Pangandaran Regency, Watch Guntari, said that during the Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah/2023 holiday, there has been an increase in tourist visits to Pangandaran Beach.

Regarding the number of visits to beach tourism objects during holidays, he said, the data is still being calculated, and will be reported later, Monday (24/4). “Starting there is an increase in Pangandaran,” he said.
