Police arrest killer of body tied to cable in Barito River

“The perpetrator was arrested in Probolinggo, East Java on Tuesday, the fourth of April,”

Marabahan (Reportase One) – A joint team from the Barito Kuala Police assisted by the South Kalimantan Regional Police Resmob managed to catch the perpetrators of the murder by finding the body of a woman tied to a cable and wrapped in plastic floating in the Barito River, Beringin Village, Alalak District, Barito Kuala Regency on December 16, 2022.

“The perpetrator was arrested in Probolinggo, East Java on Tuesday, the fourth of April,” said Barito Kuala Police Chief AKBP Diaz Sasongko in Marabahan, Friday.

The man with the initials STR was being hunted by officers nearly four months after the body was found, whose identity was later discovered with the initials YP (52), a resident of Sungai Andai Village, North Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City.

Diaz said the alleged perpetrators led to STR after the police received many clues including statements from witnesses and information from the public.

The pursuit began by detecting the presence of the perpetrators who kept moving from place to place of escape.

Before fleeing to Java, the perpetrators were even detected in Sumatra and several other cities.

“For a complete statement, we will submit it to the official release at the Polres after the perpetrators arrive and are ready to be presented to the media,” he said
Diaz.

“For the successful disclosure of this prominent case, Diaz also expressed his gratitude to all members who were involved and have worked hard in the field, including assistance from the Probolinggo Police,” he said.
