Police arrest Australian foreigners for causing a commotion at Ngurah Rai Airport

The Resort Police (Polres) of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport area arrested a foreigner from Australia with the initials GIR (62) for causing a commotion at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Tuban, Badung Regency, Bali.

When secured by I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police officers with Avsec PT Angkasa Pura, Supervision Officers (Pawas) of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Area Police Ipda AA Alit Arnaya in his statement in Denpasar, Bali, Saturday, the man was allegedly drunk when he arrived at the International Arrival Terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Friday (14/4) evening.

According to him, the foreigner’s tone was unclear and he smelled of liquor from his mouth. Therefore, the police suspected that the man was under the influence of alcohol.

Arnaya says that new GIR landing from Australia at around 11.00 WITA using plane QZ 545, then caused a commotion which disturbed many people, the person concerned even pushed a Ngurah Rai Customs officer.

“Information from the customs officer (Customs) when he was crossing the checkpoint, this foreigner was angry and had pushed the female customs officer,” said Arnaya.

After inspection, the officer found out that the cause of this Australian citizen was angry at the Customs officer because he thought the Customs officer had taken cellphone hers.

However, he continued, none of the officers knew cellphone hers.

After that, the police took the foreigner out of the International Arrivals Terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport so that there would be no commotion and disturb the comfort of other passengers.

After the foreigner was at the International Terminal Security Post, the officer received information from the customs officer that cellphone belonging to GIR had been found by a passenger at the International Arrivals Terminal. At that time it was also immediately given to GIR.

After the situation improved enough, the Aussie foreigner admitted that he lived in a villa on Jalan Mataram, Kuta, Badung.
