Reportase.one, Jakarta – The Chicago Bulls eliminated the Toronto Raptors from the NBA play-in round after defeating them with a score of 109-105 in a match that was held at the Air Canada Center, Toronto Canada, Thursday WIB.
With this result, the Raptors were knocked out of the NBA post-season competition and the Bulls were entitled to continue their struggle in the play-in round to fight for a ticket to the play-off round against the Miami Heat.
Zach LaVine scored 39 points as the Bulls came from 19 down to turn it into a win.
DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points against his former team. Nikola Vucevic added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Bulls.
The Bulls trailed in the third quarter with a score of 47-66, but LaVine lifted the team’s performance by scoring 30 points in the second half of the game.
“His performance was extraordinary. It gave us life and gave us hope,” Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan said as quoted by the NBA’s official website.
While from the Raptors camp, Fred Van Vleet scored a double-double with 26 points and 12 reboundsas well as Scottie Barnes with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Pascal Siakam became the highest scorer for the Raptors with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
With this victory, the Bulls will face the Miami Heat in the final game of the play-in round on Saturday, April 15 2023, to fight for eighth place in the play-off round.
Whoever wins the match will face the NBA Eastern Conference number one team, the Milwaukee Bucks in the first game of the play-off round en route to the NBA finals.
