TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo asked all athletes and Kemenpora employees to use the Eid 2023 moment to gather with their families. Gathering with family, according to him, can provide new enthusiasm and energy.
“What is certain is that Eid focuses on families and I also convey to the Ministry of Youth and Sport and athletes, use this Eid momentum to focus on families,” said Dito at the Ainul Hikmah Mosque, Kemanggisan, Jakarta, Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Dito also admitted that there were no special rituals in celebrating Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijri. “Returning to the family to give us new enthusiasm and energy,” said the son of Arie Ariotedjo, former President Director of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk.
Previously, the Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian contingent at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, Lexyndo Hakim, appealed to all athletes of the Red and White Contingent to maintain conditions during Eid al-Fitr 1444 H according to the coach’s recommendations.
“We must pay attention to the athletes to continue to carry out consistent training during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan has become a momentum for mental and physical forging of athletes. We also urge athletes to maintain their condition during Eid for the sake of Eid al-Fitr. peakperformance they are awake until the SEA Games later,” said Lexy in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday (20/3).
Much of the preparation of Indonesian athletes for the 2023 SEA Games, which took place on May 5-17, made many athletes willing to observe fasting and Eid al-Fitr moments away from their families.
Lexy also advised athletes to take advantage of the Eid momentum by asking for the blessing and prayers of their parents so that they can excel at the SEA Games in Cambodia. This is because the blessings and prayers of their parents will add to their mentality before fighting in the arena.
On SEA Games 2023 Cambodia, Indonesia fielded 599 athletes from 31 sports. With this number, Indonesia is expected to win 60 gold medals to maintain its top three positions.
