Reportase.one – The viral video showing the passengers of the Super Air Jet airline was so hot that they were drenched due to the malfunctioning of the aircraft’s cooling system, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will reprimand the airlines.
It is known that the Super Air Jet airline with flight number IU-737 for the Bali-Jakarta route turned off the air conditioner while flying for approximately 2 hours.
Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Maria Kristi Endah Murni, said that she had instructed the relevant directorates to give a warning to the Super Air Jet airline immediately.
Apart from the warning, he said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation also carried out further inspections to ensure that the aircraft was safe for use again.
“I received information that the plane experienced a disturbance in the air pressure control system in the cabin, causing the air temperature in the aircraft cabin to be high and the passengers to be uncomfortable due to overheating,” he said as quoted from an official statement Friday (24/3/2023).

In addition to inspections, his party also ordered Super Air Jet to investigate their internal affairs over the problem of the malfunctioning of the aircraft cabin cooling system and take the necessary corrective actions so that this problem does not recur.
In addition, his party also ordered Super Air Jet to train flight personnel if evidence was found that they carried out tasks outside the applicable standard operating procedures.
He also appealed to all airlines to continue to improve their services and prioritize flight safety and security, bearing in mind that they will soon be facing the 2023 Eid air transport period where people’s mobility is very high.
“During the preparation period for this year’s Eid air transport, we will carry out ramp inspections of aircraft that will operate serving Eid homecoming. I remind operators in the aviation sector to comply with the 3S + 1C principles in aviation, namely safety, security, services and compliance (compliance with applicable rules),” said Kristi.
A viral video uploaded by one of them by the Instagram account @jakartaformasi shows the air conditioning of the Super Air Jet airline with flight number IU-737 on the Bali-Jakarta route shut down for almost two hours.

In the uploaded video, it can be seen that a number of passengers are fanning a piece of paper, allegedly to dissipate heat due to the shutdown of the air conditioner on the plane.
