Jakarta (Reportase One) – The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD praised the firm steps taken by the North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Panca Putra Simanjuntak removed AKBP Achirudin Hasibuan from his position as head of section at the North Sumatra Regional Police Narcotics Directorate.
AKBP Achirudin was dismissed from his position as Head of the Operations Development Section of the North Sumatra Regional Police (North Sumatra) Police Directorate of Narcotics after being questioned by the Professional and Security Division (Propam) of the North Sumatra Regional Police for allowing his son to abuse a student.
“That has been acted upon, and I appreciate Pak Panca, North Sumatra Regional Police Chief, he has taken steps,” said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD at his office, Jakarta, Thursday.
It was also said that a team from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs had also been sent to North Sumatra to oversee AKBP Achirudin’s case.
“I have also sent a team there,” said Mahfud MD.
The results of the North Sumatra Regional Police Propam examination showed that AKBP Achirudin violated Article 13 letter M Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission. The regulation stipulates that every Polri official in his personality ethics is prohibited from committing acts of violence, being rude, and inappropriate.
AKBP Achirudin was not only removed from his post, but he was also placed in special detention.
“Achirudin Hasibuan has also been placed in special custody by the North Sumatra Regional Police Propam,” said the North Sumatran Police Head of Public Relations, Kombes Pol. Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, Wednesday (26/4).
Hadi stressed that the North Sumatran Police Chief would not tolerate any police behavior and actions that damaged the good name of the Police, including those carried out by AKBP Achirudin.
AKBP Achirudin’s case became in the public spotlight after a video recording of him letting his son abuse a student went viral on social media.
The case of abuse was actually reported about 4 months ago to the Medan Polrestabes, but it stopped. The North Sumatra Police on Thursday took over the abuse case.
