Reportase.one, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi asked that a number of toll roads that had already completed construction or operational operations could be checked again after Eid before they were ready to be operational for motorists.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi after visiting Cepogo Market, Boyolali, Central Java, Monday, April 10, 2023.
“The toll roads whose construction has been completed ahead of Eid will be opened so they can be utilized in order to reduce congestion. After the new Eid is checked again they are ready to be fully operational,” President Jokowi said in a virtual broadcast via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account, Monday.
The President explained that a number of toll roads that operate functionally can be utilized by travelers in breaking down traffic jams.
One of the toll roads that operates functionally or functional toll roads for the Lebaran homecoming season, namely the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) toll road.
On the previous occasion, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said sections 1, 2 and 3 of the Cisumdawu Toll Road starting from Cileunyi-Jatinangor-Sumedang-Cimalaka had been completed and supported the smooth flow of vehicles during the 2023 Christmas and New Year holidays.
Meanwhile, sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Cisumdawu Toll Road from Cimalaka to Dawuan will operate functionally during the 2023 Eid homecoming period. The toll road will operate limitedly from noon to evening at 15.00 WIB.
“So, for our brothers and sisters who are going home from Bandung to Cipali via the Cisumdawu toll road, with the permission of the PUPR Minister, it can only be operated from noon to 15.00 WIB,” said the Minister of Transportation.
In addition to the Cisumdawu Toll Road, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing stated that section 1.1 of the Solo-Yogyakarta Toll Road will also be functionally opened for 6 kilometers.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the route could pass through five traffic light although the path is short.
