Reportase.one, Jakarta – Tension arose ahead of the DPR RI Commission VII hearing meeting (RDP) with PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, yesterday Monday, April 10, 2023. Before the meeting started, Commission VII member Nasril Bahar interrupted, which led to the expulsion of the Managing Director of Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) Chalid Said Salim from the forum.
At first, Nasril questioned Chalid’s absence when Commission VII made a specific visit to Pertamina Hulu Mahakam last February. “The director of PHI was not present at all during the visit,” said Nasril.
As a result of Chalid’s absence, the working visit did not produce anything. Since landing 10:00, no activity at all. Finally, at night, Commission VII only held a focus group discussion led by SKK Migas.
“I think this is an insult to parliament. There is absolutely no commission VII award at all,” said Nasril.
Another member of Commission VII, Muhammad Nasir, conveyed the same thing. Thus, he requested that the meeting not start before Chalid left the room. “Because as an accountability, Pak Wiko is there, and two other president directors should come here,” he said.
Next Chalid apologized. Chalid said that when Commission VII arrived, he was holding a meeting to discuss long-term plans with the PHI commissioners, as well as discussing incentives for the PHI program with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. “I apologize profusely to Commission VII,” said Chalid.
Meanwhile, a member of the PKS faction, Diah Nurwitasari, regretted Chalid’s attitude in not giving any news. He considered the two events to be equally important and had been scheduled long ago. “If it is predicted that you will not be able to attend, it can be communicated to Commission VII before we go there. It’s a simple matter, a matter of communication,” said Diah.
Chairman of Commission VII Sugeng Suparwoto finally decided to expel Chalid from the forum. “Based on input from various esteemed members, the chairman of the meeting took a stance, the Director of PHM was invited to leave this meeting for the next process,” said Sugeng.
