Reportase.one – Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner advanced to the semifinals of the Miami Open after an easy win with a score of 6-3, 6-1 over Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori, Thursday (30/3/2023) WIB.
The match was delayed for two hours by rain as Sinner took a 2-0 lead in the second set, but the break did nothing to dampen the Italian’s momentum to take control of the game.
In the last four, Sinner will face the winner of another quarter-final match between world number one Carlos Alcaraz and American Taylor Fritz whose match was postponed tomorrow following heavy rain.
Ruusuvuori, aged 23, is the first Finn to appear in a Masters 1000 quarter-final since Jarkko Nieminen a decade ago, but he will have to face an in-form Sinner.

Sinner hasn’t dropped a set so far in Miami, and he coped well with the game’s first break point, holding out into the fourth game.
The 21-year-old, who this year has never lost to a player outside the top 50, broke Ruusuvuori for 3-2 and did just that once again to take the first set.
The early break in the second set solidified his domination of the match. While the rain kept him waiting for victory, Sinner needed just 74 minutes on court to finish off his 54th-ranked opponent.
“I just picked up some important points, especially in the first set, and I’m happy with my level today,” said Sinner.
“After the rain the conditions were different and I think I adapted well,” he added.
