Apriyani/Fadia Advance to the Semifinals, Rinov/Pitha Retired

Reportase.one – Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti advanced to the Swiss Open 2023 semifinals. The Indonesian women’s doubles eliminated Li Yi Jing/Luo Xu Min from China.

At the games in St. Jakobshalle, Basel, Friday (24/3/2023), Apriyani/Fadia successfully defeated Chinese doubles, Li Yi Jing / Luo Xu Min with a score of 22-20, 21-15.

Apriyani/Fadia also continued their work to the semifinals of this Super 300 level tournament. They will challenge Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota or Chloe Birch/Lauren Smith.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari had to leave the 2023 Swiss Open. Both retired against Ye Hong Wei/Lee Chia Hsin in the quarter-finals.

But in the second game, the Indonesian pair decided not to continue the match. Rinov/Pitha chose to retire, and were eventually declared defeated.

Meanwhile, based on information from PBSI, the mixed doubles ranked 13th in the world could not continue the match because Rinov suffered an injury to his hand.

“Rinov suffered an injury to his hand which made Rinov/Pitha have to withdraw from the quarter-final match. Rinov recovers quickly, Rinov/Pitha gets back up,” said PBSI’s statement which was uploaded via the official Twitter @INABadminton.
