Jakarta, Reportase – The global economy is expected to continue to improve driven by improvements in the handling of Covid-19 in China. Bank Indonesia (BI) estimates that world economic growth will reach 2.6%.
This was conveyed by the Governor of BI Perry Warjiyo in a press conference after the Board of Governors Meeting (RDG), at the BI Head Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (18/4/2023)
“The improvement in the world economy continues, BI estimates that global economic growth in 2023 will reach 2.6% driven by the positive impact of opening up China related to the Covid-19 pandemic,” he explained.
It is known that last year, China imposed a lockdown in various regions due to the spread of the Covid-19 case. This put pressure on China’s economy as well as its trading partner countries.
Another impetus is the United States (US) economy which is expected to be better than before.
