His career as a reliable basketball player with a gold record for the most points in the NBA basketball competition lasted 40 years.

After completing his schooling from Power Memorial Academy, he continued his education at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). There he majored in History and English. During his time as a student, he also joined the UCLA basketball team and served as center.

While there he led his team to win 88 times and lose two times. He also received many degrees during his time as a student. Player of the Year twice, First Team All three times and won the NCAA Basket Ball Champion Teams three times in a row and won the award as NCAA The Most Player each year.

During his time as a student, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar studied Islam and then converted to Islam. He is known as a philanthropist because of his various humanitarian activities, one of which was once selling his NBA championship trophy and ring to donate. Four championship rings, three MVP trophies and this memorabilia was sold for almost three million USD to be donated to youth education programs. This is because he wants to give young people a chance to change their lives.
